- B2B Meetings with Turkish Hosiery Manufacturers in New York

The Turkish Hosiery Industry Trade Show & B2B Meetings Event will be taking place in New York at the end of Summer 2018. Participants will have the chances to meet directly with sixteen prominent Turkish Hosiery Manufacturers from Istanbul Socks Cluster, to explore new business opportunities at the B2B meetings to be held at the trade show event and/or by individual company visits.
The event is organized by Istanbul Apparel Exporters Association (IHKIB) to present capabilities of Istanbul Socks Cluster. Their latest, the most innovative and sustainable products will be showcased at the event. Participating Manufacturer companies’ Profiles are available at our Website.
Most of those visiting Hosiery Cluster members have certificates such as Sedex, Oeko-tex, BSCI, and GOTS. Altogether, They account for over 37 Million dozens total annual capacity by utilizing more than 5,500 socks knitting machine park.
Attending to the B2B Meetings is free of charge. However, it is only open to importers, distributors, wholesalers, retail chains, agents, and designers that are actively engaged in the hosiery business, and advance registration is required.

SOCKS AND HOSIERY SECTOR IN TURKEYTextiles and clothing sectors are among the most important industries of Turkish economy in terms of GDP contribution, share in manufacturing, employment, investments and macroeconomic indicators. Having a share of 18,3% in total export volume in 2015, these sectors have a significant role in world trade as well as a capability of meeting high standards and sophisticated preferences. According to ITC Trademap statistics, Turkish clothing industry is the 8th largest supplier in the world. It’s also the 4th largest supplier of the EU in 2015.
As a sub-sector of the large Turkish clothing industry, the hosiery industry started to develop in the early 90s. In recent years, pantyhose, tights, stockings, socks and other hosiery production in Turkey has shown a faster growth. With the new investments, it is estimated to have reached a production capacity of more than 2,2 billion pairs per year. The sector exports more than half of its production.
With its advanced production capacity, high technology, design capability and the increase in the number of qualified personnel, the hosiery sector presently has a significant place in world production and exports. It ranks the 2nd in the world hosiery production, following China.
